She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvis Eugene Darnell and Martha Pearl Moore Darnell; and her sister Linda Moore Darnell of Fontana, California.. She is survived by: her husband Charles Richard Neff Jr. of Southern Pines; her daughter Ashley Neff Adams (Barry Stuart) of Jamestown; her grandchildren, Wayne "Thomas" Adams IV of Raleigh and Rebecca Ellison Adams of Jamestown; and her brother Jerry Wayne Darnell (Pamela) of Seagrove.
The family requests donations be made to either Pleasant Hill Baptist Church or FirstHealth Hospice. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Kay Ellen Neff 's name.
