He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Scheuermann and Flora Scheuermann (Bodden); and his sister Dorothea Nolan. He is survived by: his brother Peter; his wife Anne Marie; his children, Eric (Jennifer), Kurt, Kristen (Mike), Heidi, Rebecca (Hipolito) and Gretchen; his grandchildren, Graham, Gregory, Hannah, Gretchen and Charlie; and his siblings, Betty Ann and Greg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and countless dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be sent to Catholic Relief Services (P.O. Box 5200, Harlan IA 51593-0700) or the Sandhills MOAA ROTC Scholarship Fund (P.O. Box 4205, Pinehurst, NC 28374).
