He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Graning and Irene Graning; his former wife Linda Klepper Graning; and his stepson David Moore. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Risch; his brother Robert Graning (Judy); and his children, Michael Graning (Edye), Michelle Donahue (Mark) and Lynette McLaughlin (Carl). He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
