She was predeceased by: her stepdaughter Lisa Rippel Bratton; her son Kurt Hohorst; her brother Jon Konz; and her parents, Maurice Konz and Helen Konz.

She is survived by: her husband Dick Hohorst; her children, Andrew Rippel of Lynchburg, VA, Aaron Rippel of Swan Quarter, NC, Barbara Frisina of Pittsford, NY, Christian Hohorst of Virginia Beach, VA and Travis Crider of Newport News, VA; and her sister-in-law Patty Konz. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
