He was predeceased by: his parents, Brantley Pierce and Irma Hinelsey Pierce; his wife Hazel Hooker Pierce; his granddaughter Jennifer Pierce Baylor; and his great grandchild Harrison Campbell.
He is survived by: his children, Dianne Pierce Plummer (Michael) of Lexington, Rose Pierce Blackburn (David) of Randleman, Cindy Pierce Cody (Al) of Lexington and Johnny Pierce of Sophia; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Gooch, Amy Stone (Greg), Will Plummer (Rodney), Jeremy Testerman (Andrea), Kevin Blackburn (Katie), Chad Testerman (Sarah) and Kristen Marine (Shane Campbell). He is also survived by four step grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.
