He was predeceased by: his parents, Jonah Edgar Nicholas and Annie Ruth Spivey Nicholas; and his sister Kay Hunley. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Nichols of Sophia; his sons, Micah Nichols (Amber) of Colorado and Isaac Nichols of South Carolina; his stepson Tim Ross of New London, NC; his daughters, Hope Cole (Michael) of South Carolina and Lela Nichols of Mt. Gilead, NC; and his stepdaughter Tina Safriet of Trinity, NC. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
