He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Hart and Lillie Mae Hart; and his siblings, Bruce Hart, JD Hart and Joy Corbett.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Beaman Hart; his children, Celeste Stephens (Jeff) of Greenville, Robin Robinson (Dreyshawn) of Rocky Mount, Dana Hart (Charlotte) of Elm City, NC and Jackie Hart of Newport News, VA.; his grandchildren, Kurtis Perez, Jeff Stephens Jr. (Paige), Kayla Hart (Austin Knight), Ryan Hart, Brett Hart, Garrett Stephens, Ashlynn Hart, Annabeth Hart, Michael Hart and Christopher Hart; his great grandchild Weldon Knight; and his sister-in-law Jenny Lou Hart of Williamsburg, Virginia..

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service (117 NW 3rd St, Snow Hill, NC 28580). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Snow Hill Cemetery (1112 Kingold Blvd, Snow Hill, NC 28580).
