She is survived by: her children, Theresa Thomas (James Patrick) of Snow Hill, Lena Collier (Travis) of Snow Hill, Johnny Simmons (Christine) of Goldsboro, Robert Simmons (Tammie) of Stantonsburg and Richard Simmons (Jennifer) of Roanoke Rapids; and her sister Betty Gamble of Knightdale. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
