It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Virginia Stallings Mitchem of Snow Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on April 8, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Stallings and Ada Taylor Stallings of Snow Hill; her son Phillip L. Mitchem; her son-in-law John L. Davis; her siblings, Tom Stallings Jr., Sudie Mae Jones Shoffner, Beulah Mae Ezzell, Wiley Stallings and Buster Stallings; her nieces, Katherine Ezzell Payne of Burlington, Marie Stallings Harrell of Deep Run and Mary Stallings of Newport; and her nephew David S. Jones of Burlington.
She is survived by: her children, Virginia (Jerry Altman) of Mebane, Jackie Stallings of LaGrange, Hallie Wayne Mitchem of Mebane, Sarah M. Davis of Deep Run and Mary Ann Burns of Pink Hill; her grandson Paul (Brandi Stallings); her great grandchildren, Kaylee and Bray of Kinston; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Kostner of Deep Run and Noble (Teli Mitchem); her great grandchildren, Elijah, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Isah Belle Grace, Adara, Manny and Zeph; her grandson Franklin (Shannon) of Pink Hill; her great grandchildren, Davy, Kaiden, Austin and Dawson; her grandchildren, Richard Collins (Amy Williams) of Cary, Tracy Davis of Kinston, Kelly Davis of Pink Hill and John Davis Jr. of Deep Run; her great grandchildren, Brandon and AnnaBella Davis; her grandchild Jerry Altman Jr. (Heather) of High Point; her great grandchild Joshua; her children, Cherokee, Bobby of Sylvia and Crystal (Kevin Richardson) of Seagrove; her grandson Jeffrey (Jessica); her great grandchildren, Ella and Brittany; and also, Thomas B.
