He was predeceased by: his parents, Hebrew Joyner and Lizzie Norris Joyner; his wife Elaine Hinnant Joyner; and his siblings, Ruby Perry, Janice Joyner, Billy Joyner, Donald Ray Joyner, Frank Joyner, James Lee Joyner and Leslie Earl Joyner.
He is survived by: his son Steven Joyner (Laura) of Maury; his siblings, Marie J. Hinnant (Phillip) of Rocky Mount, Vickie J. Wells (G. T.) of Faulkland and J. W. Joyner of Gold Rock; and his grandchildren, Cristina Joyner Randof (Tyler) of Roanoke Rapids, Zachariah Manning of Maury, Joshua Kinzler of Maury and Haley Kinzler of Maury.
