She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Joyner and Nina Joyner; and her husband Preston Parks Pate. She is survived by: her children, Hilda Pate Barrowof Greenville and Preston Parks Pate, Jr. (Pat) of Newport; her grandchildren, Melissa Culbreth (Jason) of Raleigh, Andy Barrow (Carie) of Greensboro, Randy Barrow (Jenny) of Raleigh, Megan Myrick (David) of Newport and Bryan Pate (Audrey) of Geneva, OH; and her great grandchildren, Adam Barrow, Jonathan Barrow, James Barrow, Jack Barrow, Olivia Myrick, Bryce Pate and Parker Pate.
