He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Herring and Dorothy Worley Herring; his sons, Austin Herring and Jason Pyle; and his sister Sandra Conner.
He is survived by: his wife Angie Head Herring; his sons, Blake Herring (Kelly) of Louisburg and Tyler Herring (Shannon) of Topsail Beach; his brother Danny Herring (Pat) of Hertford; his mother-in-law Margaret Head of LaGrange; and his grandchildren, Peyton Herring, Kylie Herring, Carson Herring and Julian Herring.
