He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Evelyn Sutton Shackelford; his wife Elizabeth Ann Shackelford; his sons, Jay Shackelford (Laura) of Winterville and Jon Shackelford (Melissa) of Hookerton; his sister Susan Shackelford Baker of Fort Collins, Colorado; his grandchildren, Jeri Shackelford, Jonna Shackelford and David Shackelford; his niece Sarah Sutton Baker of Fort Collins, Colorado; his stepdaughter Holly Minges of Kinston; and his father Jerry Hartsfield Shackelford.
