He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Rouse and Blanche Barfield Rouse; his siblings, Douglas Rouse, George "Bud" Rouse, Mercel "Jimmy" Rouse, Zeally Edward Rouse, Tom Rouse, Gladys Jones and Frances "Mattie" Reichard; and his stepson Mike Dail.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Jarman Smith; his sons, Danny Smith, Jr. of Snow Hill and Jeffrey Thomas Smith (Wendy) of Pikeville; and his siblings, Robert Michael Smith of Snow Hill, Debra Smith Aldridge of Snow Hill and Sue Smith Walston of Farmville. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
