He is survived by: his wife Betty Evans; his daughter Heather Smith; his son-in-law Bryan Smith; his granddaughter Penny Jane Smith of Chapel Hill; his son Clifton Evans Jr. of Texas; his brother Albert Evans (Hilda Evans) of Greensboro; his friend Brenda Strother of Kinston; and his cousin Cheryl Jarman of Kinston.
