She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Ballance and Alice Ballance; and her brother Jonathan Ballance. She is survived by: her husband Samuel McKinley Gray, Jr. (S. M.); her son Ken Gray (Anita) of New Bern; her grandchildren, McKinley Gray (Breanna) of New Bern, Kaitlin Banasiewicz (Ben) of Winterville, Carter Gray of Charlotte and Mary-Catherine Gray of Chapel Hill; and her great grandchild Grayson Gray of New Bern.
