She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Smith and Lillie Hill Smith; her husband James Roy Carlile; her son James Roy Carlile, Jr.; and her siblings, Alma S. Huber, Inez S. Kearney, J. P. Smith of Carl Smith, A. J and Rudolph Smith.
She is survived by: her son Ronald Carlile (Rhonda) of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Ragen Carlile (Will Catterson) of Raleigh and Rayne Carlile (Zouheir Boussaid) of Apex; and her great grandchildren, Addilee Catterson, Alleya Boussaid, Ayda Boussaid and Ameila Boussaid. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
