She was predeceased by: her parents, William Ruffin Burgess, Jr. and Nellie Tinsley Dodson Burgess. She is survived by: her sons, Matt Evans (Melinda) of Knoxville, TN and Adam Morse (Layla) of Graham; her stepson Seth Holt of Wilson, NC; her grandchildren, Elijah Evans, Easton Evans, Emma Evans, Cayden Morse and Kira Poole; her brother Willie Burgess (Wendy) of Orange County; and her nieces, Abby Maness and Jamie Flowers.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Burlington Animal Shelter, 221 Stone Quarry Rd. Burlington, NC 27217.
