She was predeceased by: her parents, James Steven and Aretha Harold Waid; her husband Lamar Chavis; and her brothers, Michael, Charles Allen and Donnie Waid.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Kelly (Ed), Sharon Purvis (Dave) and Randy Griffith; and her siblings, Paul, James, Ronnie, Steven Waid and Brenda Sturgil. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
