She was predeceased by: her parents, Jatha Rowe and Ella May Woolard Alligood; and her husbands, Robert Neville Shannon and Reginald Leroy Taylor. She is survived by: her daughters, Virginia Dare Shannon Taylor (Dan), Shirley Shannon Williams (Larry) and Ella Shannon Brown (David); and her grandchildren, Dena Bailey (Tim), Joey Bateman, Stephanie Williams, Christin Smith, Shannon Morris (Gordon) and Katelyn Duval. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
