He was predeceased by: his parents, B. Harris McVey and Rochelle Roach McVey; his wife Betty Ruth Wilson McVey; his siblings, Marion M. Tillman and Forrest McVey; and his grandson Benjamin Robert Crutchfield.
He is survived by: his children, Donna McVey Perry (David) of Snow Camp, Beth McVey Crutchfield (Bobby) of Burlington, Darrell Tysor McVey (Carla) of Snow Camp and Barry Wilson McVey of Snow Camp. He is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Methodist Home for Children, 1041 Washington St., Raleigh, NC 27605-1259.
