She was predeceased by: her husband David Marlette Newlin; her parents, Francis Ellis Byrd and Ennis Mildred Byrd; her grandson Nicholas Newlin; and her brother Ellis Byrd.
She is survived by: her children, Elaine Newlin Lindley (Ricky) of Snow Camp, Lawrence David Newlin (Barbara) of Snow Camp, Charles Mahlon Newlin (Laurie) of Snow Camp and James Francis Newlin of Phoenix, AZ; her grandchildren, Cameron Lindley, Kaitlyn Lindley, Janie Newlin and Caroline Newlin; and her brother Irving Byrd (Patricia) of Mt. Crawford, VA.. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
