She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Klondyke and Annie Maude Beasley Ward; her siblings, Ernest K. Ward, Jr., Gerald M. Ward, Patricia Ward Langdon, Sandra Ward Harper Johnson and Billie Ward Wood (Betty); her niece Teresa Jo Roland Bailey; and her husband Roy Wilson Davis (R. W.) of Enfield, NC.
She is survived by: her son Ernest S. Ward (Ernie); her daughter-in-law Penny; her granddaughters, Stephanie Ward and Jennifer Ward Knepper (Andrew); her great grandchildren, Emerson Knepper, Whitman Knepper and Meryle Mae Knepper; her sister Faye Ward Strickland of Richmond, VA; her niece Angela Harper Bryan; her cousins, Tammy Harper Crews Holland, Joan Santoro (Joni), Donna Schillings, Kimberly Hiteshew, Pamela Landgon Kozell, Jennifer Langdon, Phillip Strickland, Timothy Strickland and Jason Nathaniel Wood; and also, Teresa Massey, Martinea Isley, Candace Jackson, Jane Evans and Cynthia Farris.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Smithfield for the Baptist Children's Home in Kinston or to the Ernest K. and Maude B. Ward Endowment Scholarship Fund at Johnston Community College in Smithfield.
