We are sad to announce that on December 30, 2023, at the age of 89, Ruffin Johnson Jr. of Smithfield, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Theron Ruffin Johnson Sr. and Susie Cannon Johnson; and his sister Susan Johnson Parrish. He is survived by: his wife Connie Lassetter Johnson; his children, Kevin Hunter Johnson and Julie Johnson Hopkins (Chuck); his grandchildren, Tori Elisabeth Johnson, Jacob Theron Hopkins and Bodie Cannon Hopkins; and his cousin Elinor Wallace Starling. He is also survived by many other cousins; multiple nieces and nephews.
He was also a member of the Smithfield Jaycees, on the Johnston Community College Foundation Board of Trustees, Smithfield Selma Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Smithfield Downtown Development, NCQHA, NRHA, SERHA of NC.
