She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Oliver West and Sue Gainey West. She is survived by: her husband Arthur Barnes of Smithfield; her sons, Oliver Dennis (Christie) of Broadway and Robert Barnes (Kristen) of Smithfield; her grandchildren, Victoria Williams (Josh), Westley Dennis and Daniel Barnes; her great grandchildren, Athena, Aidan, Wyatt and RaeLynn; and her brothers, Lloyd West of Coleridge and Donald West of Erwin. She is also survived by birds, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Parrish Funeral Home (1351 S Pollock St, Selma, NC 27576). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
