He is survived by: his wife Laura Thomas; his daughter Robin Harris (Curtis); his stepchildren, Sarai Byrd and J. Neil Byrd (Mary Marchè); his grandchildren, Casey Marshall, Ryan Thomas Harris (Ashley), MaryAnna Byrd Barnes (Bradley), Abby Byrd, Skyler Allen Estep (Frank) and Caris Allen; his great grandchildren, Ford Harris and Whit Barnes; his niece Sandra Thomas Hall; and his nephew W. Olen Thomas, Jr..

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Selma Baptist Church (1500 N Webb St, Selma, NC 27576). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
