He was predeceased by: his parents, Merton Whitley and Delphia Whitley. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Morgan Whitley; his brother Herman Howard Whitley (Carolyn Whitley) of Smithfield, NC; and his sister-in-law Rebecca Whitley of Smithfield, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
