He was predeceased by: his father Willie E. Farmer. He is survived by: his mother Dorothy L. Farmer; his wife Kathy Norris Farmer; his children, Kenny Wayne Farmer (Shelley) of Lillington, Amy W. Hodge (Tracey) of Selma, Tina W. Fields (Tyler) and Jessica Williford (John D.) of Elm City; and his siblings, Rusty Farmer (Ginger) of Nashville, Cheryl Dean Elmore of Dunn, Patricia Ann Baker of Rocky Mount and Dorothy Lynn Bunch of Creedmoor. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
