He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Margaret Carter and Judson Carter; his wife Rena G. Carter of Dallas Texas; his sister Lillian Caldwell; and his children, Lynn Harrell, Kimberly Carter of Smithfield, Jay Carter of Wilmington, NC and Christopher Carter (Charlie). He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
