He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Delwood Newsome and Ida Potter Newsome. He is survived by: his wife Joy Mangum Newsome; his daughters, Lisa Schimming, Cathy Ring and Debbie Harp Packard; his siblings, Gary Thomas Newsome of Kenly and Betty Newsome Riggins of Smithfield; his grandchildren, Coley Harp, Carley Wiseman, Markie Hayes and Blake Mills (Kirbi); and his great grandchildren, Demi Harp, Maddon Harp and Channing Mills. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
