With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elton Young Evans of Smithfield, North Carolina, who passed away on June 23, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessy C. Evans and Lois Hines Evans; his wife Sylvia Joann Evans; and his brother Ray Evans. He is survived by: his children, Dennis Evans (Jeannie), Kenneth Evans (Tammy), Michael Evans, Brian Evans (Heather), Ginger Feldpausch (Dale) and Kelly Benson; his sister Jean Jones; and his caregiver Virginia Norman. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
