He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Peterson and Lula Williams Peterson. He is survived by: his wife Joan Cooke Peterson; his sons, Scott Peterson (Kelly) and Stacy Peterson (Anna); his grandchildren, Britney Batchelor (Mike), Tony Peterson, Ellis Peterson and Liam Peterson; and his siblings, Bessie Cooke, Elsie Jones, Ann Braswell, Lois Faye Fuller and Nathan Peterson.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the West Calvary Free Will Baptist Church (309 Powell St, Smithfield, NC 27577). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at the Neuse Memory Gardens (2999 S Brightleaf Blvd, Smithfield, NC 27577).
