He is survived by: his wife Linda Jo Thompson; his son David; his daughter-in-law Renee Thompson; his daughter Tracie; his son-in-law Randy Whitley; his grandchildren, Jacob Whitley, Makayla Whitley and Jordan Blackman; his pet Gracie; and his sisters, Marie McLamb, Vicky Wall and Diane Quintin.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Tee's Chapel FWB Church (6439 Brogden Rd, Smithfield, NC 27577). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
