It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carol DuFour Hewitt of Smithfield, North Carolina, born in Glens Falls, New York, who passed away on March 24, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Carol DuFour may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Carol DuFour touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth DuFour and June Varney DuFour of Sanford, NC.. She is survived by: her daughters, Lisa Koncikowski of Greenville, SC and Tracey O'Dowd (Michael O'Dowd, Jr.) of Smithfield, NC; her grandchildren, Ian Milks of Greenville, SC, Hannah Milks of Greenville, SC and Andrew Milks of Seattle, WA; and her niece Lynn Juckett Hooker (Brandon Hooker).
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (202 S 4th St, Smithfield, NC 27577). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at 146 S 3rd St, Smithfield, NC 27577.
