He was predeceased by: his father Roy Laverne. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Dale Hughes; his children, Casey Hughes (Kelly Pope) of Pine Level and Ashley Hughes (Joe) of Kenly; his stepson Michael Dale (Wendy) of Princeton; his sisters, Linda Leyman of Ravenna, OH and Teresa Donell of Ravenna, OH; and his grandchildren, Ethan, Mikalah, Jalin and Isaac.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Johnston County Animal Shelter.
