It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arintha Louise Hairston (Smithfield, North Carolina), born in Elbert, West Virginia, who passed away on September 21, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ambrose Bell Poe and Dorothy Mae Rucker Poe; and her husband Manuel Leroy Hairston Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Manuel Leroy Hairston, Jr. (Kathy) of Four Oaks and Tammy R. Hairston (Bryant Walker) of Clayton; her stepdaughters, Dorothy Still of Martinsville, VA and Donna Bonner of Silver Spring, MD; her grandchildren, Devin Carter, Jimmy Richardson (Heather), Brandon Richardson, Stephen Richardson (Leslie), Kelly Richardson, Chris Richardson (Madison) and Kayla James (Daniel); her stepgrandchildren, DeChanta Shelton (Charles) and Larry Bonner II (Lorena Alvarez); her great grandchildren, Alexus, Amara, Tania, Arielle, Dazmin, Trinity, Junior, James Jr., Maleeyah, Kaleah, Isaiah, Arya, Christian, Owen, Oaklynn, Lynnleigh and KayLani; and her siblings-in-law, Everett Hairston (Dorian) of Roselle, NJ, Rev. Shirley Miller of Cleveland, OH, Costella Hairston of Williamson, WV, Chiquilla Polain (Dwight) of Conyers, GA and Jean Robinson of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren.
