He is survived by: his wife Peggy Mercer Pope; his daughter Tracy Pope Perry (Danny Ray Perry); his grandsons, Daniel Joseph Perry and Carson Michael Perry; his sister Janie Pope Temple (Jackson "Jack" Temple); his niece Elizabeth Temple; and his nephews, Jackson Temple, Jr. and William Parker Temple (Ashley).

“Mr. William Troy Pope was a wonderful Uncle to me and Brother to my mother, Janie Pope Temple. As a former Mayor of Lucama and Town Council member of Lucama and volunteer Fire Department fire fighter, he was always ready to take 911 calls. He said they always said, "GO!" He had a bright smile and loving heart and his warm personality brought out the very best in people. It is hard to say goodbye even today, but his Spirit is in his daughter and my cousin, Tracy Lou Pope and her two sons, always”
