He was predeceased by: his father Charles Pate. He is survived by: his daughter Megan Pate Barrett (Ashton) of Kenly; his grandson Bowen Charles Barrett; his mother Shirley Wall Pate of Kenly; and his brother Chris Pate (Shannon) of Goldsboro. He is also survived by four nephews.
