He was predeceased by: his parents, Will Yates and Alverta Hicks Yates; and his wife Linda Yates. He is survived by: his children, Carl Yates (Donna), Mark Rodgers (Tammy), Tracy Rodgers (Heidi), Gloria Holt, Anita Yates and Libby Airhart (Josh). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brim's Grove Cemetery Fund.
