With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Lee Simpson of Siloam, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 3, 2024 at the age of 91. He was predeceased by: his parents, Colie McKinley Simpson and Mecie Emma Reynolds Simpson; his wife Gilda Gray Watson Simpson; his sons, Gary Lee Simpson and Timmy Steven Simpson; his daughter-in-law Frances; and his granddaughter Brittany Simpson.
He is survived by: his daughter Tonda; his son-in-law Michael Marion; his granddaughters, Emily Fischer (Brad) and Sarah Bowen (Jason); his great grandchildren, Michael Timothy Fischer, Ella Morgan Elizabeth Fischer, Jake Robert Bowen and Case Edward Bowen; and his close friend Linda Key. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.
