He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin M. Parsons and Ella Mae Grogan Parsons. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Kyle Allshouse of Siloam, Jessica Vipperman of Falls Mills, VA and Jessica Eads Mappa of Mt. Airy; his siblings, Donald "Don" Parsons (Susan) of Courtney, Timothy Parsons (Teresa) of Pfafftown, Brenda Haltom (Terry) of Christiansburg, VA, Sandra Parsons of Winston-Salem, Dana Morris of Kernersville and Cynthia Booe of Winston-Salem; his uncle Max Grogan (Sandra); and his aunt Allene Grogan Ross. He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren; 11 nieces & nephews; & numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinnacle View Baptist Church.
