It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laurie Eugene Hiatt Sr. (Siler City, North Carolina), who passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his child Laurie; his grandfather Poppy; his grandchildren, Gene and Lillie; his parents, Jesse Clifford and Ruth Marshall Hiatt; his wife Lillie Kidd Hiatt; his daughters, Jo Anne Hiatt and Deborah Hiatt Taylor; his grandson Jacob Eugene Taylor; his siblings, Virginia Hiatt Marley, Frances Hiatt Ritter, J. C. Hiatt, Jr., Tommy Hiatt and William Hiatt; his sons-in-law, Donnie Taylor and Bruce McNeal; his daughters, Sandy Jarrell (Wally), Joyce McCorquodale (Mike) and Kathy McNeal; and his siblings, Fay Hiatt Bedell of Columbus, NC and David Hiatt of Silver Valley, NC. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
