He was predeceased by: his parents, John Brooks and Margaret Clark Brooks; his daughters, Blanche Regina Brooks and Carolyn Margaret Brooks; and his sister Helen Frances Langley.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Varner (Dwayne) of Liberty and James "Russell" Brooks (Keri-Jo) of Siler City; his grandchildren, Anna Brooks, Landon Brooks and Logan Brooks; and his girlfriend Joyce Buie Chalflinch of Carthage. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Joyce-Brady Chapel (3833 Chatham St, Bennett, NC 27208). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at the Rives Chapel Baptist Church (4338 Rives Chapel Church Rd, Siler City, NC 27344).
