He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Spivey and Ava Lee Beal Spivey; his wife Sue Rice Spivey; his daughter Kimberly Nesbitt; and his brother Kermit Spivey.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Alex Nesbitt (Meredith) of Lincolnton, NC and Mackenzie Moore of Charleston, SC; his great grandchild Abigail of Lincolnton, NC; his niece Amanda Spivey Barbour (Justin); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cameron, Landon and Emma Grace of Sanford, NC..
