He was predeceased by: his parents, John Raymond and Mabel Brendell; and his siblings, J. R., Harry Ray, Bobby Brendell and Sally Champion.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his daughters, Laura Kennedy (Mike) of Huntsville, AL and Carrie Bryan (Scott) of Sherrills Ford, NC; his grandchildren, Michael Kennedy (Jessica) of Fayetteville, GA and Holly Reid (Drew) of Huntsville, AL; his great grandchildren, Lily, Miles, Mallory and Emmy; and his sister Betty Kupiszewski (Bob) of Leavenworth, KS. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lake Norman Humane, the American Cancer Society, or the Alzheimer's Association.
