We are sad to announce that on January 6, 2024, at the age of 87, William R. Pierce of Shelby, North Carolina, born in Woodbury, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Canway Pierce and Sara Lavinia Mole Pierce; his sister Beverly McEnery; his grandson Phillip Grey Hammel; and his daughter Susan Goins.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Weidman Pierce; his children, Sharon Hammel (John) and William Pierce, Jr. (Tanya); and his grandchildren, Sara Karner (Kevin), Candace Wortman (Zachary), Will Pierce, Olivia Pierce, Ben Greene (Amanda), Jessica Leone (Nick) and Amy Vanderveen (Chance). He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
