He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Backer Peters and William I. Peters, Jr.; and his sister Sarah Wilbur Peters Schreffler (Forrest Schreffler) of Jensen Beach. He is survived by: his wife Marie Brittain Peters; his children, Cindy Burgess of Gastonia, NC and William Ira Peters IV (Lisa) of Dadeville, Alabama; his stepchildren, David Martin of Jacksonville, Florida and Janice Beaver of Shelby, NC; his grandchild Ashley Snyder (Jay); his great grandchildren, Mya, Evan and Luke of Gastonia, NC; his grandson Steven Burgess (Kelly); his great grandchild Adelaide of Macon; his grandchildren, Georgia and Lauren Peters of Auburn; his stepgranddaughter Stephanie Beaver (Chris Simpson) of Shelby, NC.; his nephews, Billy Schreffler (Judy) of Jensen Beach and Richard Schreffler (Noella) of Marianna; his great-nephews, Levi Schreffler and Jacob Schreffler of Marianna, Florida.; and also Joshua Beaver (Alison) of Chapel Hill, NC.
