He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Everett Newton and Elva Zena Wall Newton; his wife Carol Street Newton; his son Timothy Neil Newton; and his siblings, Lemmie Newton, Alvin Newton, Velestus Newton, Mattie Martin and Affie Hudson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Newton of Polkville and Cindi Alexander (David) of Polkville; his brother R. E. Newton of Union Mills; and his granddaughter Jessica Gauvreau (Ben) of Huntersville.
