He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bowen and Mary Overstreet Bowen; his wife Nellie Bowen; his son William Patrick Bowen; his siblings, John Wray Bowen (Ruth), Marshall Ted Bowen (Eula), Virginia Bowen Snellings (Clay) and Lucy Bowen Smythe; and his brother-in-law King.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann Bowen Skinner of Charlotte, Nancy Bowen Terry (Jeff) of Shelby and Paul Bowen of Shelby; his grandchildren, Lauren Terry Holmes (Scott), Patrick Terry, Jared Skinner, Justin Skinner, Tyler Bowen and Megan Dorsey (Ronnie); his great grandchildren, Bethany, Brilee, Layna, Ashlynn Skinner, Brooklyn Mabe and Lincoln Dorsey; his great great grandchild Kennedy Giles; his sister Sarah King; his nieces and nephews, Carolyn Smith, Caitlyn Joseph, Meagan Hamrick, Nadine Wallace, Judy Freeman and Patrick Terry; and his close friends, Leonard, Patsy Self and Don Gibson.

Those in attendance are asked to wear face masks.
