She was predeceased by: her father Willard Baker; her husband Kenneth Carpenter; and her daughter Maranda Carpenter. She is survived by: her mother Marianne Kleist Baker of Shelby; her siblings, Pam Baker of Kings Mountain, Bonnie Lawenz (David) of Mt. Holly and Billy Baker of Gastonia; her nephews, Charles Rhodes III (Sasha) and Keenan Baker (Haley Blackwell); and her great-nieces, Melani Baker and Hanako Rhodes.
